My dream for a fighting crossover containing Capcom and Namco is finally coming true, kind of. At Comic-Con this year Namco and Capcom announced they would be making a crossover game involving their Tekken and Street Fighter franchises.
Due to the two series' different types of fighting games, Street Fighter being on a 2D plane and Tekken being in a 3D environment, each of the developers would be making individual games using the two different styles. Namco will be making Tekken X Street Fighter (pronounced Tekken Cross Street Fighter) which uses the 3D fighting system of the Tekken series. While Capcom will be making Street Fighter X Tekken which does the opposite, uses the 2D mechanics of the Street Fighter series.
While I would've prefered Namco Cross Capcom/Capcom Cross Namco, as I wouldn't have minded SoulCalibur in there along with some other characters and series, this is pretty damn good as it is. What do you think?
